A Sarabah Estate wedding.

Another spectacular wedding held by Sarabah Estate right here. What a perfect array of details and a perfect set of bridesmaids and groomsmen for the lovely Anne and Tim.  I’m totally in love with their style. This wedding had it all, the cutest and sweetest small details, a fabulous wedding venue, fantastic guests and even a drone courtesy of their lovely videographers at Brittany McMurray! We had so much fun photographing your beautiful day. Thank you for choosing The Arched Window for your wedding photography and thank you for being such an amazing couple!!!

How did you and Tim first meet?

We have actually known each other since we were children as our families are friends. We used to have the same babysitter! We didn’t become a couple until much later on though when I was visiting Townsville during a uni break and started spending time with Tim and his sister, Samantha, again. After twelve years, two dogs, six homes, three states, and travels all over the world, we were finally ready to get married.

How about the engagement?

Tim proposed over lunch at the Oakridge Winery in the Yarra Valley to the surprise and joy of some of our closest friends who had joined us for a weekend away. He was feeling a little nervous (we all just thought he had made himself sick eating chocolate at the Chocolate Factory), and I responded by laughing uncontrollably. I managed to say yes in between laughs and then the bubbles flowed (hot tip to anyone wanting to get engaged: do it at a winery; there were free drinks all round!)

Tell us about your gorgeous décor. What was your inspiration for your amazing wedding theme?

I had to work hard to convince my mother that the theme of our wedding was not ‘Wine’.

We love vineyards and their relaxed, rustic and charming feeling, so we wanted to embrace that as much as we could. We also wanted our friends to have a relaxing, enjoyable, and memorable day so tried to think about even the smallest of details. One of my favourite things was the personalised wine corks we had made. We used them to make pate knives as gifts, guests signed them in lieu of a guest book and they made great decorations. Of course we also can’t forget the Wine box my father made for us. He carved it out of two trees that came from the respective front yards of our childhood homes. We incorporated it into the ceremony and each year on our anniversary we can open it and drink the bottle of wine and read the lovely notes that were placed in it.

Tell us a little about what brought you to choose Sarabah Estate for your wedding venue?

We knew we wanted to get married in a vineyard and ideally close to Brisbane. When we found Sarabah Estate everything just felt right. Cameron and Toni-Maree welcomed us like family and worked with us to make the day special. It also helped that they loved good food and wine as much as we do – and their Sarabah Estate Sparkling sealed the deal!

Honeymoon?

We actually had two honeymoons. We took a week off after the wedding to relax in the Maldives and a few months later we went on a life-changing trip to Antarctica. We actually spent Christmas day playing in the snow with the penguins.
